Black History Month and politics

Here's the story if you haven't heard about it. We're in for a fun political season.

**************************
Ok,
I broke my rule about no politics, no religion, no current events on
this blog. But I shut down my other blog until spring, and I'm dying to
post cartoons.

Can't get the link to work, but I sure do get the idea...

I'm not opposed to the occasional cartoon -- especially if they're this pithy!

It's rather stunning to me again to realize how many and how much so many people in the U.S. focus on race. My dear father is colorblind, genetically, but he's colorblind in another way as well. White skin that he has, he's still the most unracist man I know...and he taught me to be likewise, growing up. And it's been hard to be a grownup and discover how racist so many adults, unlike my father, truly are.

My only concern about ANYONE in office is simply how well-qualified they are to do the job--how well qualified in heart and mind and soul and talents--and how colorblind they are...

HA! that's funny. I linked you today, BTW. I got one of your books and reviewed it. It's great!
