Agony
Ok, the manuscript has only been left to simmer for about an hour. I picked it up and reread it again after my author colleague confirmed receiving the email. The first sentence is a mouthfull — one big, long, run-on, never-ending sentence.
Getting together with other parents with young kids is how I wrote a lot of my early books. And don't sweat the first line thing.
As for the myspace - don't sweat it. I'm just putting up my billboard over there. I set certain goals for myself to find certain people and that's about it. I'm into a new book that needs to get rolling plus I need to work on the PR for Hugging the Rock. Speaking of which, don't forget to swing by the Tricyle Press/Tenspeed booth at TLA and look for the gallets.

I'm sure you'll nail it!
If your critique partner is who I think it is, you two are going to have so much fun!
My friends and I are starting a summer writing club again this year--parks, writing and lots of kids. I can't wait!
